While cleaning suede, you can brush off dry stains using a soft toothbrush. You can also make use of a baby toothbrush because it will be softer. You can try cleaning a small unnoticeable area first so that you can find out whether the use of these products ruins the nap of the leather.

While cleaning suede if you come across a wet stain you can press a dry or paper towel on the stain without rubbing the area. You can also try and squeeze out the liquid with your weight. Preferably you must get wet stains removed by a professional. If that is far beyond your budget you can clean it yourself using a towel that has been slightly dampened in white vinegar. You must check for color fastness before trying to remove the stains. The treating process on leather will determine whether color would run or not.

You can also make use of a hair drier to dry the area as much as possible. You must not use it in heat mode because you can harm the suede as the stain can set. When it dries, the nap of the suede can be restored using a soft baby toothbrush or wash cloth. The wet spot must not be left as such because it can weaken the leather nu turning stiff. On getting wet, suede garments can also crack and tear along the seams.

You must try to air dry a suede suit or coat that has been drenched. If they are not dried properly such garments can lose their shape. You can soak up the water and press using a dry cloth to keep suede garments in nice shape. You must also ensure that you hand such garments on hangers designed for the purpose. You must select the right clothes hanger as they can make a lot of difference. The shape of the garment can be maintained properly by using the right hangers such as shirt hangers for shirts, skirt hangers for skirts, coat hangers for coats etc.
