Getting Rid of Stains on Suede
You can find suede in many textures and grades that finding the right
cleaning suede product can be confusing. Due to the loss of some oils,
some suede varieties can become weak and lose their texture and color.
You must use anything on your suede garments only after testing the
product on an inconspicuous area. You must use a cleaning suede product
that is specifically manufactured for the purpose and not use other
cleaners as these can ruin suede or the stitching.

It is very difficult to keep suede leather clean. It is prone to stains
because of its porous or matte texture. Cleaning suede stains can be
difficult and you may have to remove stains with professional help if
you have a serious stain. If you wish to do it yourself the following
tips can be of great help.
While cleaning suede, you can brush off dry stains using a soft
toothbrush. You can also make use of a baby toothbrush because it will
be softer. You can also use a pencil eraser for removing stains while
cleaning suede. You can try cleaning a small unnoticeable area first so
that you can find out whether the use of these products ruins the nap of
the leather.
While cleaning suede if you come across a wet stain you can press a dry
or paper towel on the stain without rubbing the area. You can also try
and squeeze out the liquid with your weight. Preferably you must get wet
stains removed by a professional. If that is far beyond your budget you
can clean it yourself using a towel that has been slightly dampened in
white vinegar. You must check for color fastness before trying to remove
the stains. The treating process on leather will determine whether color
would run or not.

You can also make use of a hair drier to dry the area as much as
possible. You must not use it in heat mode because you can harm the
suede as the stain can set. When it dries, the nap of the suede can be
restored using a soft baby toothbrush or wash cloth. The wet spot must
not be left as such because it can weaken the leather nu turning stiff.
On getting wet, suede garments can also crack and tear along the seams.
You must try to air dry a suede suit or coat that has been drenched. If
they are not dried properly such garments can lose their shape. You can
soak up the water and press using a dry cloth to keep suede garments in
nice shape. You must also ensure that you hand such garments on hangers
designed for the purpose. You must select the right clothes hanger as
they can make a lot of difference. The shape of the garment can be
maintained properly by using the right hangers such as shirt hangers for
shirts, skirt hangers for skirts, coat hangers for coats etc.
